TriLyn originates, structures, restructures and participates in a broad array of real estate investments including:

  • Mezzanine Investments: Mezzanine loans, preferred equity and other investments       that are subordinate to first lien mortgage loans
  • Senior Loans: Whole loans which TriLyn may hold solely or jointly with institutional       partners
  • Bridge Loans: Senior and junior mortgage loans secured by properties requiring       interim financing
  • Value-added Investments: Investments in real estate-related entities which may take       the form of secured debt or hybrid instruments such as convertible debt with       warrants, preferred equity or other debt securities of real estate-related entities
  • Equity: Joint venture or 100% sole ownership
  • Real estate operating companies: Debt and/or preferred equity recapitalizations

    Investment Strategy
    TriLyn's investment strategy is comprised of identifying capital market inefficiencies and mispriced risk; investing in diversified, institutional quality assets; sourcing off-market transactions; and applying ongoing risk and asset management to assets and portfolios.

    Mispriced risk: The company specializes in capitalizing on inefficiencies in capital structure and mispriced risk in real estate debt and equity investments. The firm looks to take advantage of shifting market conditions, building portfolios of senior, mezzanine, and high yield commercial real estate debt and preferred equity to achieve superior risk adjusted performance for its client accounts.

    Diversified assets: Investments are selected based on a multi-disciplined process, including analysis of market conditions and research-based forecasts of asset class performance. The firm focuses on applying appropriate positioning within the capital stack to obtain attractive risk adjusted returns. Account portfolios are diversified by location, property sector and structure.

    Institutional Quality: Investments must be backed by institutional quality real estate assets, supported by solid underlying real estate fundamentals.

    Off market Transactions: Transactions are sourced through TriLyn’s industry relationships with owners, developers, research firms and advisors. Our investing capabilities are across the entire capital stack (senior or mezzanine debt, tranches within existing debt structures, preferred equity) and ability to deploy capital quickly enables timely and efficient transactions, including acquiring re-priced assets from lenders and borrowers.

    Risk Management: Portfolios are subject to stringent ongoing risk management oversight and asset-specific evaluations to position or reposition assets for successful exit strategies and enhance overall performance.
